Boots

A frequently asked question regarding boots, especially mountain boots is: will ‘Boot X’ be Suitable for ‘Mountain or Region Y?' and despite what you may think this isn’t an easily answered question. Other than the obvious polar ended advice, that a lightweight 3-season hill walking boot, is not going to be suitable for an 8000m peak in the Himalayas, and equally a pair of plastics is going to be complete overkill for summer in the Lakes, there is a fair amount of variance in a customer's needs in between these obvious statements.

Even within the same model of footwear, a tight fit may offer a better technical fit, whereas a more relaxed fit allowing for thicker socks, and less constriction of the feet will offer greater warmth - either scenario may be applicable for different customers needs. Possibly the most important fact to remember, is that different folk feel the cold in different ways, which makes generic recommendations even harder, so if in doubt seek help and advice.
