CLWYD LIMESTONE
by Mark Glaister and Lee Proctor
Published August 2005
A much-needed guidebook to the fine limestone found in the Eglwyseg Valley, to the north of Llangollen in north east Wales. The Valley is lined on its eastern flank with a set of fine compact buttresses of high quality limestone. The cliffs vary from the small solid walls of the Dinbren and Pinfold cliffs, through the popular crags of the World's End area and onto to the imposing major venue of Craig Arthur. The area has always been a bit of a backwater and although locals and the occasional visitor have climbed here, Clwyd has never really attracted climbers like the better known Snowdonia crags.
This guidebook gives comprehensive coverage of all the routes in the Eglwyseg Valley and a number of outlying venues. As with all Rockfax productions, the coverage consists of high-quality full colour phgoto-topos, full routes descriptions, accurate approach maps, symbols, tick boxes and some stunning action photographs.
