Product Description

Based on the rest of the ATC family's design the ATC Sport belay device will handle ropes 7.7mm to 11mm. It can be used in two orientations, one regular and one high friction mode depending on the situation and weight difference between climbers. Its simple design and hot-forged low profile make for a very robust device with great holding and stopping power.

The ATC Sport is an ideal belay device if you only climb on a single rope, most commonly this will be sport climbing or at the climbing wall.

decent friction

Hi,

I've been using one of these for the last couple of months, I was previously using the basic ATC and had been doing so for the last few years, recently my wife has been belaying me and there is a sizable weight difference, the atc had become worn and so we decided to opt for something with a little more friction. This has made a huge difference, when I drop, I now am easier to hold and when I ask to be taken tight to sit on the rope I dont start creeping down! this has been a god send and I am very pleased with how this has performed for me!

Really nice and slick running belay device. I have been using this for a while now and am very satisfied with it. It is an ideal device for sport routes and is also very light. It is a nice compact device and not bulky at all. The deep groove makes it ideal for a variety of rope thickness. I have used this device on a variety of different ropes and not had any problems. I would highly recommend this product.
