Product Description

A simple two part snow shovel which is compact when not in use. The Lynx is light, agile and quick to handle rescue or home making tasks. It features a work hardened aluminium blade and a strong and ergonomic handle which is easy to operate with gloves and mitts. The shovel when in use is 70cm long and packs down into its shaft at 48cm length and the blade is 36cm long x 22cm wide.

Keep in your sac for every day when above the snow line.

I purchased this shovel after a few considerations. Although not as light, funky and street cred as it more contemporary replacements I am still very happy with it.

It dose exactly what it says on the tin and is a reasonable price. You would not feel left out in the cold if 'a friend' damaged it with over zealous digging or dare I say you lost it. Only improvement - I would make it with an oval shaft to stop movement.

If this winter is as near good as 2009/10 winter, get your shovel now as they were like hens teeth last season. When not mostly in my ruck sac over the winter I keep mine in the car boot next to my wellies and sleeping bag. You never know when you may need it.
Camping above the snow line

I've used this shovel a couple of times camping above the snow line whilst winter mountaineering. It is both compact, light and strong. The straight handle make's it easier to attached the outside of your pack. I'd also recommend carring this even when you don't plan to bevvi as a safelt precaution as you never know when your going to need it.
