The Flyer features a comfortable rounded toe and good looks that will take you anywhere. Features that will keep pace with your antics - on or off the rocks - include speed laces with nylon web stabilisers which provide easy adjustment from cruiser to crank down climbing mode. This lacing, combined with the triple density EVA midsole, balances trail comfort with instant climbing performance. Notice the red soft shock absorbing EVA mid-sole under the heel, grey medium density at heel and mid foot for stability and super firm black EVA under the toes for serious support and edging control.
FLYERS connect you to both trail and rock via the custom sticky Vibram HFS mini-lug sole that sports a solid climbing zone with built-in toe bumper. Contoured 4 piece climbing rubber rands friction well in cracks and also adds protection from stone bruises along the trail. Uppers are crafted from 2mm split leather with a fully gusseted Termida SL tongue - for ventilation and additional comfort. Best for all crag and boulder approaches, casual climbs, long trail days and smart looks around town.

I go through alot of approach shoes. I wear them every day for my work and over the years have tried loads of different makes. I like the look of Scarpa's but their approach shoes just don't last long at all. I have had several pairs of Scarpas such as the Quest etc but the rubber wears out so quickly. If you want proof have a look at the heel of a pair next time you see someone wearing them.
I swear by AKU's Stone approach shoe. It is so solid! Untill I bought the Boreal Flyers I hadn't found anything that lasted this long. I have been wearing the flyers for a year now and they still have so much life left in them. I have used them on climbing walls, scrambles and just general use. These are a cracking approach shoe and along with the AKU Stone have to be the best out there! I reckon the reason these aren't as popular as others is maybe because they don't have the same looks appeal as Scarpa and La Sportiva.
Go buy them, you won't regret it.
