The Boa is a large and very strong offset HMS karabiner with a massive gate opening. The offset shape gives the Boa a lot of extra strength without compromising it's core function as a HMS this means that not only can it handle standard HMS duties well - belaying italian hitches - but it provides a lot of extra capacity and safety when it comes to rigging.

The Boa has been one of the most popular DMM carabiners because it handles all tasks really well. It has now got even better!

Wouldn't be without it.

Such a great piece of kit, which is so useful to any trad climber, regardless of ability. I lost mine and have already ordered a replacement. The real benefit of this biner is that you can easily pop 3 or 4 clove hitches straight on it without having to squeeze them on. It makes setting up anchors a doddle saving fiddling time! Its light too for something of its size, certainly on a par with any other HMS I would've thought.

Bottom line is that it will make your life easier.

I have to agree. This is my belay carabiner of choice. It is nice and big for whatever ropes you use.
It also sits well with the belay device and seems less likely to rotate or cross load than some.
My favourite belay carabiner.

This carabiner from DMM is a classic. I bought my first about 10 years ago. The design hasn't changed much, which is always a good sign. The newer ones are a bit lighter but retain the same massive shape. It is big enough to easily clip the fattest ropes and is great for an italian hitch.
