Loading... Please wait...DMM Wallnuts are amongst the most popular nuts that you can find on a rack, and are a staple for many climbers.
One of the defining features of DMM Wallnuts has to be the scalloped edge. This allows the nut to be placed in more complex placements, where crystals and other irregularities may have otherwise got in the way. They can easily be placed face or side on due the way that they curve, so each nut has plenty of placement options. DMM have worked on the alloy mix with the end result being a nut that bites into the rock when fallen on. The anodizing helps when finding the right size gear for the job, the colour also coincides with Wild Country Rocks, to help avoid confusion if you use both. Other important factors in the manufacture and design are the reduction of any excess weight where possible and the well rounded edges allowing snag free placements, and easy cleaning for your second.
Overall DMM Wallnuts would make a good choice for your first set, or and additional complementary set of nuts.

I have been very pleased with my set of DMM Wallnuts that I have been using for the past year. The anodising makes the different sizes really easy to identify in a panic and the groove on the widest side of the nut is a really useful feature even if it does reduce the surface contact in a standard placement. They’re ideal in horizontal cracks that have crystals protruding or any other rugosities. I have made numerous placements utilising this groove that wouldn’t have been stable without.

After trying many different sets of nuts out from different people I had been climbing with, I bought a set of these. I found that they were by far the most versatile set which seemed to fit in the most different placements. They sit well as soon as you place them with a little tug, so are good for beginners who are unsure of their placements. I found them easier to place then wild countrys. I have used them on grit, limestone and rhyolite and they have been great on all.
Also by buying from DMM you are supporting a british brand at the heart of British climbing in North Wales.

DMM set the standard for nuts. The curved shape and indents on the standard wallnuts make them one of the easiest to place with security. Colours make selection easy and does seem to last in use.
The strength ratings for the smaller nuts are very good.
Not the cheapest, but are a great contender for a first set of nuts.
