Loading... Please wait...The Reptile is Edelrid’s entry-level and/or traditionalist offering. The no-nonsense partially asymmetric profile of the Reptile, combined with its supportive midsole and sturdily constructed split leather upper, make this shoe a great all-round proposition, whether you’re putting in the miles at your local climbing wall or using it as an all day trad climbing shoe, this product is a fine and worthwhile addition to what is already on offer in this category.
In terms of fit these shoes come up quite large (contrary to the original Reptile which was small fitting), with a fairly straight profile, a high volume non aggressive heel fit and laces which drop along way down the toe-box - allowing for plenty of adjustment. Whilst the upper is predominantly split leather, it is constructed with a synthetic ‘frame’ (the black sections) which should prevent the shoe stretching out too much. Overall, a good shoe which packs a lot in for the price.

Got these as a secondary, comfy pair of shoes to run along side my Sportiva Miura's, for use down the wall etc. Been quite surprised how good they are and have even found myself on a few E2's in them on the welsh mountain crags. Also well made for the price, would say they would make a good boot for those starting out and aspiring to improve quickly. Or like me, someone who is looking for a reasonably priced wall/secondary shoe, to take the load off your pricey techy boots.
