Based on Chris Sharma's climbing expertise and design ideas, Evolv created this shoe for him which he used to send his project "Es Pontas" his deep-water solo project route in Mallorca, Spain. It is a wildly overhanging route that is 65 ft long and includes a challenging 7-foot dyno that is 35 feet above the sea and ends with a powerful and technical finish.

The Pontas is essentially a souped up, high performance version of the the highly popular Defy model. A higher tension heel rand pushes the foot forward into the front of the shoe for maximum power through the toes. The big toe is covered by a slitted rubber patch for toe hooking and scumming ability. This patch will also stop the fabric 'knuckling out' over time. A cotton liner ensures that the fabric will not stretch, so don't get these shoes too tight unless you can stand the pain!
