The Evolv Talon G2 is a superb performance shoe aimed at overhanging terrain – as Evolv say: "Vertical terrain need not apply". Modified from the original incarnation, to offer a more solid feel and re-designed toe box, the Talon G2’s more sturdy construction and thicker out sole does take a bit more breaking in, however this also means that, once broken in, the Talon offers full tilt performance for longer than its predecessor.  

Essentially, this is Evolv's answer to the granddaddy of down turned shoes, the Five Ten Dragon, and in terms of fit it stacks up pretty similarly. Where the Talon arguably trumps the Dragon is by way of the extremely well designed and manufactured toe rand which covers the entire front of the shoe, improving toe hooking and scuming as well helping to increase the overall durability of the shoe.

All in this a very good option for those seeking a down turned shoe.
