Dry bags are totally waterproof - not just the fabric but the whole bag. They're usually designed to be used inside other bags (or boats) so they're simple shapes. The roll-down closure will keep water out even if the bag is submerged so long as you put enough folds in! The transparent strip is a great idea when you're trying to find your socks in a hurry.
