The Five Ten Quantum is to the Anasazi Lace up what the Arrowhead is to the Anasazi Velcro. In real terms this means, the popular ‘Magic Fingers’ Anasazi heel and low volume precision upper has been tweaked into a down-turned last. Having said that, whilst the Quantum retains popular facets of the Anasazi range, as with the Arrowhead, the Quantum isn’t simply a down-turned Anasazi – it is an entirely new beast. As with many of the newer Five Ten toe-down shoes, the Quantum is also quite soft, much softer than a Dragon for example. However, it does offer a slightly more sturdy midsole than other recent incarnations, such as the Arrowhead, Black Wing and Hornet.

Overall, a very well fitting piece of specialist footwear, with a precision yet fairly low volume fit, particularly around the arch. Five Ten advertise this shoe as being supplied with a Stealth Mystique sole unit, however all European stock, in actuality, comes armed with the equally proficient Stealth Onyxx sole unit.

Sizing: we feel the sizing is on a par with the Arrowhead, and is around half a size smaller when compared to Dragon's - thus if you are a UK8.5 in Dragon's you are likely to be a UK8 in this shoe. Conversely, you will probably need to up size by half a size when comparing the Quantum to the Anasazi Lace Up – i.e. if you are a UK7.5 in the Lace Up you will need a UK8 in the Arrowhead.
