Product Description

The Galileo is a lightweight climbing shoe which was developed by Five-Ten's European R&D team and perfected in their Redland's testing facility.

This shoe is superbly suited to the Anasazi Velcro customer who requires a more supportive shoe on longer routes or extended days of sport climbing or bouldering. It also has a slightly de-tensioned sling shot heel rand when compared to the Anasazi Velcro, making it less savage on the achilles tendon.

Specification

  • Designed as a high-performance hook and loop closure shoe for high-level climbing.
  • Non-stretching lined synthetic cowdura.
  • Hook-and-loop Velcro closure with a padded split tongue.
  • Stealth Onyx rubber sole technology.
  • A stiff and very supportive shoe

  1. Brilliant

Posted by Charley Fell on 6th May 2011

I bought these shoes to replace my rather worn pair of Anasazi [Velcros]. They appear to be very similar to the Anasazi but I've found they have a slightly wider fit and have a more relaxed heal which suits my feet a lot better. They are really good for both smearing and edging and have got me up some pretty blank slabs on both grit and limestone. I can't wear them all day without my toes suffering but like with all velcro shoes they are easy to get on and off in-between climbs. They are an excellent pair of shoes just like the well known Anasazi but much better suited for people with wide feet.

  2. The best rock shoes

Posted by Kevin Titheradge on 10th Sep 2010

I recently bought a pair of Five-Ten Galileo climbing shoes to replace my red chilli’s. I initially was going to get the Five Ten – Anasazi Velcro which every man and his dog seems to be wearing at the moment. After trying both pairs on I immediately noticed how comfortable and light weight these high-performance shoes are. The Galileo’s seemed to be very similar to the Anasazi Velcro but with a more relaxed heal adding to the comfort yet still as technical as and far more attractive than the beige Anasazi Velcro’s. Get these; you will not regret it...
