Five Ten Insight

The Five Ten Insight. Helluva shoe. It's lightweight, with a solid construction. I find that Five-Ten shoes fit the mould of my foot perfectly, so to comment on their comfort may be a little biased, but if you feel the same way, then this shoe won't disappoint - and sizing wise it should be the same as any other five-ten you wear. They're pretty fresh looking too; so much so that I thought I'd wear them out for a night on the town. This is when I discovered what I could say is the only short coming of the Insight: The super sticky stealth rubber, which has found traction on quite a variety of outdoor surfaces (except for some mossy wet rocks on the south coast) somewhat inhibits the busting of moves out on the dance floor.

The comfort and design and sole friction of these shoes is indeed fantastic, however they seem to have no ability to put up with heavy use. The toe protection of my spanish friends pair delaminated and frayed after about 4 months daily use. Also the wrap around part of the sole unit soon became unstuck to leave a 'lolling tongue' At the front.
I'm aghast at the state of them and the lolling tongue reminds me of the first pair of 5.10 approach shoes that I ever bought which did exactly the same after a few months.
A seriously flawed product on the durability front it seems, which is a real shame since they have a lot going for em. Sort your self out 5.10!

Used the Camp Four for a long time but ended up with a pair of these last time due to RR being out of stock in my size of the Camp 4.
So glad I got use these, basically they are the same as the Camp 4 in every way, except they are even more stable, as they don't raise your heel as high!

These are fine shoes for approaching crags anywhere in the UK, throughout spring, summer and autumn. Despite the lack of a waterproof membrane they are extremely water resistant and the soles offer THE best traction you are going to get on rock, and aren't too shabby on mud, snow and wet grass! Also, super comfy as well as offering loads of support.
