Loading... Please wait...The 'missing link' in Grivel's antibott system: a housing for the regulation bar that joins the crampon's two parts together. Today's best anti-balling up system is now perfected with the Accordeon fitted to all sizes and folds up for storage - sold in pairs.

This is a simple, but fairly effective solution to the problem of snow balling up on the connecting bar of your crampons.
This tube of plastic does the job but the accordeon is only partly effective at collapsing down so you cannot reduce the size of your crampons for packing.
I've found that a just as good (and cheaper) solution is to put a piece of bicycle inner tube over the bar. This does the same thing but folds down more when you collapse the crampons.
