It has a simple twist flame control that can easily be operated with gloves, from flamethrower to simmer. Other features include the Windclip Windshield, which is the tri divider on the top of the flame opening, helping keep the stove working efficiently in breezy conditions. It comes supplied with a small toblerone shaped case for storage, and is not too bulky itself.
In our opinion it is best suited for boiling types activities rather than glamorous camping gourmet for the masses. It will knock up a brew in a few minutes no problem, and takes up little space and weight, for its size it is still relatively stable. As a lightweight stove it makes an excellent choice for adventure racing and backpacking.

This is a good light stove for basic needs - boiling water for brews and simple dried foods. However, the burner is a little too focused and uncontrollable to be good for general camping use.

Having been brought up cooking on a Trangia, a switch to gas stoves was always going to be a bit of a revelation! (In its defense, the Trangia is a great bit of kit, just not too speedy!)
Then along came the Pocket Rocket... I was looking for a light and fast stove for the LAMM & similar 2-day events, as well as general lightweight camping.
This little beauty is a classy piece of work.
- Very light (ok, you probably could shave off a few grams if you made it from titanium, but just how much do you want to spend on a stove?)
- Very powerful. It boils a litre of water in well under 4 minutes (probably a whole lot less in perfect conditions too).
- Very reliable. Worked first time, every time for me.
- Very sturdy. Something that other super lightweights sometimes come unstuck on. There is very little to go wrong on this stove. Open the support legs, attach a canister & with a roar, you're cooking on gas!
The handle is very easy to use, even with cold hands/gloves. It packs away in it's little triangular bombproof capsule & works like a dream.
In short, it's a fantastically well made bit of kit. If you're looking for a lightweight, reliable & sturdy little stove, BUY THIS ONE!!!

Handy little stove. I had doubts about it at first thinking it would not be stable for large pans but it gives great bite from the metal arms. Its folds down to virtually nothing, great if you want it to take out on a day trip to boil water for tea etc. Still even at the campsite it gives a good blast of heat out and isn't too badly affected by the wind…it’s easy enough to make a small homemade shield anyway. Overall great value for the money, small, lightweight, powerful.
