Petzl Altios Helmet
Product Description
Ultra comfortable multi-purpose helmet. Mesh panel and expanded polystyrene liner, makes helmet extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear: the helmet 'levitates' above the head for a near-weightless feeling. The space between the head and the liner allows for effective ventilation with the Climate Control System. This durable helmet is very ergonomic, adapting to almost any head shape two options for attaching a headlamp.

Comfortable and Simple

This was my first ever helmet although I have worn many other varieties, I have so far found this to be the best. I received it as a christmas present and have been very pleased with it ever since. To start off there is lots of comfy padding inside which makes it great for wearing all day at the crag because you never want to take it off because it is barely noticable. The second thing is the strap adjustment at the back, not only is it very simple to adjust it is very sensitive so there is always a setting which isn't too loose or to tight. The strap also sits right at the bottom of your head and keeps the helmet completly rooted even with the chin strap undone. Overall a great helmet with a comfy fit and very easy to use.

I bought this helemt just over a year ago after trying on 7 or 8 different helmets. I chose the Altios for its fit and comfort it is adjusted via a ratchetting wheel at the back and sliding tape buckles. it has many well thought out features that further improve the fit such as a floating mesh between you head and the foam, vent covers that can be open and closed to suit the weather and and bent buckle that is easy to undo one handed without that embarrasing I can't get my helemt off moment where you have to get a mate to unclip it for you. The colour is a nice matt grey finish which doesn't scream look at me I'm wearing a helmet and the orange clip secure your headtorch very well.

Helmets are a fairly personal choice with the fit and comfort very dependent on head shape and size. The good news is that the Altios has a mesh suspension liner between your head and the foam lining. This helps the comfort and fit as well as being great for airflow. Adjust for size with the twist knob. The only mild crit is that the ear straps could be a mite longer.
