The Petzl Basic is the essential rope clamp/grab.

It is a lightweight and compact rope clamp/grab, with the same tenacious cam as the Petzl Ascension handled ascender. This gives it increased grip strength particularly on ropes of smaller diameter (4.2 kN on an 8 mm dynamic rope). Do not hesitate to carry it to deal with any rescue or hoisting situation, whether underground or in the mountains.

Use with single kernmantel rope (UIAA dynamic or low stretch rope or static) from 8-13 mm.

Light and compact, the Petzl Basic is often carried by climbers and mountaineers for emergency use.
