The Petzl Meteor III+ is a popular helmet that in addition to meeting international standards for mountaineering, also meets European standards for cycling and whitewater sports.

The Meteor III+ makes a great cragging or summer climbing helmet. It is lightweight and has loads of ventilation, which is why it will not be as good for winter. It is lightweight due to the expanded polystyrene which it is primarily constructed from. Using the expanded polystyrene to absorb impacts rather than a cradle system means that the helmet can be worn closer to the head so has a nice low profile. The helmet has plenty of adjustment, more than many other models. The chinstrap and headband as you would expect, but you can also adjust the nape height for a very comfortable fit.

All in all a great lightweight multi-use helmet, which would make a very good choice for summer, and would also make a fine choice for those helmet haters.
