The Tendon Smart is a 10mm single rope with a good level of abrasion resistance, combined with a decent ‘handle’ and low kink value for it's price, making it ideal for those on a budget and outdoor centre use. The rope also has a clearly visible halfway mark, helping to keep the belayer aware of pitch lengths on sport routes.

Great on indoor walls

I bought this rope so I could start lead climbing at my local climbing centre, it's been perfect so far! A little slippy through belay devices, but otherwise ideal. I've not tried it outdoors yet, but I would highly recommend it as a first rope for indoor use.

Got this as present for Xmas. I am only a beginner and have only used 2 or 3 different ropes belonging to other people. In my limited experience I couldn’t really tell the difference apart from it being slightly heavier than the others. It meets all the same safety standards as more expensive ropes. It doesn’t have a dry treatment but the likelihood of me using it in the rain is extremely limited and when I get to that point no doubt I will upgrade my rope.
The tendon is perfect for a first rope, handles well and is virtually unbeatable for the price.

This rope is great for a first rope, its affordable and does the job, it actually does the job very well its middle marked which is priceless for climbing sport, it handles well and its durable. I've used this rope for everything sport trad and indoors, great for all these applications but its downfall is the wet, if your going to be going to Wales to do mountain routes in the rain this is not the rope for you, its a sponge when there is water around making it heavy to carry and sticky through your belay device, apart from this is a great first rope being thick enough to handle safely yet still perform when you need it
